Fed: Doctors call for asylum seeker to transfer to Australia

Doctors have demanded a 19-year-old asylum seeker on Nauru at risk of going blind be
transferred to Australia for treatment.

But the Immigration Department denies the Afghan teenager has lost vision in his eye
or has a renal disease.

A spokeswoman for the department says there's no truth to the doctors' claims, and
if any asylum seekers are identified with an illness that can't be treated on Nauru they'll
be transferred to Australia.
