DuPont, Genencor JV Breaks Ground on Biofuels Pilot Plant.

DuPont says it 50-50 joint venture with Danisco's Genencor, DuPont Danisco Cellulosic Ethanol, broke ground on its previously announced pilot-scale biorefinery and biofuels R&D facility at Vonore, TN. The facility will convert non-food feedstocks such as corncob and switchgrass into ethanol. The joint venture partnered with the University of Tennessee Research Foundation to develop the pilot facility and agronomic supply chain for switchgrass in Tennessee, DuPont says.
